An elegant Italian-inspired wedding, navy details, white roses, limoncello cocktails and a whole lot of dancing. T & O's wedding day was the perfect mix of timeless style, personal touches and unforgettable moments.
Some wedding days just have a feeling about them. The kind of day filled with sunshine, happy tears, endless laughter and a dance floor that never seems to empty. T & O's wedding was exactly that.
With a vision of bringing a little slice of Italy to the UK, they created a beautiful celebration filled with Mediterranean-inspired details, elegant styling and the most wonderful atmosphere. From the Italian garden and white roses to lemons, olive leaves and limoncello, every element felt considered and personal, while still leaving plenty of room for fun.
As a Devon wedding photographer, these are the kinds of weddings I love capturing most. The meaningful moments, the little in-between interactions, the big celebrations and all the genuine emotion that makes a wedding day uniquely yours.
And T & O's day had all of that in abundance.
When I asked T & O what first attracted them to Deer Park, their answer was simple: the beautiful Italian garden and the stunning main house.
They wanted to bring a taste of Italy to the UK, and the setting was the perfect place to bring that vision to life. The gorgeous grounds, elegant architecture and welcoming wedding coordinators gave them the confidence that they could create the day they had imagined.
Their chosen style was Italian classic, with T describing it as “Italian fun classy” — which, having experienced the day, couldn't have been more fitting.
Think timeless elegance with a relaxed Mediterranean feel, beautiful details alongside plenty of personality, and a celebration that felt just as good as it looked.
Pinterest may have provided much of the initial inspiration, but T & O made sure their wedding styling felt personal to them.
Navy and white roses created a classic, elegant colour palette, while lemons, olive leaves and limoncello brought in those lovely Mediterranean touches. The overall look was refined without feeling too formal, with little details that tied everything together beautifully.
I loved how they balanced the timeless styling with elements that reflected their personalities. It wasn't simply about creating a beautiful wedding; it was about creating an atmosphere their friends and family could enjoy from the moment they arrived.
And, of course, it wouldn't have been complete without plenty of cocktails!
One of my favourite things about a wedding is discovering all the thought that has gone into the little details. T & O had so many lovely touches that made their celebration feel completely personal.
There were personalised cards for their guests, fans and tissues, and even personalised newspapers telling their story as a couple. These were such a thoughtful way to share a little piece of their journey with the people who meant the most to them, while giving everyone a special keepsake to take home.
And then there was the music.
T had always dreamed of having a saxophonist at her wedding, and Tim was the perfect addition. She imagined the sax playing with the sun shining, and thankfully, they were lucky enough to have both.
The music brought so much energy to the day, setting the tone for what was to come. It was elegant, joyful and full of personality — a perfect reflection of the wedding they had envisioned.
For both T & O, the morning was filled with excitement and anticipation.
O spent the morning with the boys, enjoying breakfast, having a drink and chatting with his closest friends. He was excited for the wedding and all the festivities ahead, although there were naturally a few nerves about everything coming together as planned.
For T, the morning was equally special. Surrounded by her closest friends, popping champers and singing with her gal's, she felt excited and full of love for the day ahead . The butterflies really kicked in when it was time to put on her dress.
These quieter moments are always so special to photograph. Before the ceremony, before the celebrations really begin, there is a lovely sense of anticipation. The hugs, the laughter, the little glances and the realisation that the day you've spent so long planning is finally here.
And then, suddenly, it's time to walk down the aisle.
While the reception entrance was a definite highlight, T also spoke about how special it was to walk down the aisle and see all her family and friends for the first time that day, with Owen waiting for her at the end.
It's one of those moments that is impossible to recreate. The anticipation, the emotion and the expressions on everyone's faces all come together in a way that feels completely unique to that one moment.
For O, the day was about the excitement of getting married and the happiness of having everyone together. For T, it was a mixture of nerves, love and overwhelming emotion.
These are the moments I want couples to be able to return to when they look through their photographs years from now. Not simply how everything looked, but how it felt to be there.
If there was one moment that summed up T & O's wedding, it was their grand entrance into the reception.
They chose Like a Prayer by Madonna, with Tim the saxophonist playing over the track. As the doors opened, their family and friends erupted, waving their napkins, cheering and bringing the most incredible energy into the room.
O immediately picked this as the moment he'd most love to relive.
T agreed, remembering how vividly she could picture the doors opening and hearing everyone cheering for them. She described the feeling as something she wished she could bottle up forever.
And honestly, that's what weddings are all about, isn't it? Not just the beautiful styling or the carefully planned details, but the feeling of being surrounded by all your favourite people, celebrating something wonderful together.
The atmosphere was electric, and it set the tone for the rest of the afternoon perfectly.
Although their wedding had all the elegance of a classic Italian-inspired celebration, T & O made sure their photographs captured the fun side of their relationship too.
O loved the photographs of them enjoying espresso martinis, complete with their ring fingers proudly on display. They were playful, full of character and a lovely reminder that wedding photographs don't always have to be serious to be meaningful.
T's favourites included the espresso martini photographs, the images of them walking through the field with parasols, and the photographs with their bridal party.
I love that combination of elegant portraits and photographs that let couples simply enjoy themselves. A little bit of direction when needed, plenty of space to be natural, and the freedom to create images that genuinely reflect who you are together.
Their photographs captured both sides of the day: the romance and elegance, alongside the laughter, the cocktails and the brilliant energy of their friends and family.
I always love asking couples what advice they'd give to anyone planning their own wedding, and T & O shared some brilliant thoughts.
O's advice was to spend the day together rather than getting caught up in being pulled in different directions. He also believes that couples set the tone for their own wedding: if you want a fun atmosphere, bring the fun yourself, and your guests will follow.
T's advice was to have a clear vision of how you want your day to look and, more importantly, how you want it to feel. Choose things that reflect you as a couple rather than following trends or feeling that you should include certain things.
She also shared something I think is so lovely: if you pour love into the planning, you'll get it back tenfold on the day.
And their best planning decision? Choosing their photography and videography team, with Me (Melanie Barnfield Photography) capturing their photographs and Rich from Specularvisuals documenting the day on film. They wanted to be able to treasure those memories forever, and they were so happy with how everything turned out.
They also gave a special mention to their fans — an excellent decision on a very hot day!
As the day moved into the evening, the celebrations continued with music, dancing and even more unforgettable moments.
T & O chose Crown Your Love for their first dance. They admitted to feeling nervous just beforehand, but when they performed their lift with the sparks going off and their friends and family cheering, they were able to relax and enjoy it.
It sounds like the perfect moment: a little bit of nerves, a spectacular entrance into the evening celebrations, and the people they love cheering them on.
But it wasn't just the first dance that got everyone moving. T was determined to get Macarena onto the playlist — despite having to fight for it — and it turned out to be a hit on the dance floor.
For O, one of the most memorable musical moments came later in the evening, when everyone gathered in a circle to sing Angels. Those moments, when friends and family are all singing together, are the ones that stay with you long after the music stops.
When I asked whether there was anything they'd do differently, the answer from both of them was a definite no.
It was perfect.
And when it came to describing what marriage means to them, their answers were beautifully simple.
For O, it's “a lifetime of happiness.”
For T, it's “a lifetime of love and your best friend rolled into one.”
I think that says everything.
Because underneath all the beautiful flowers, the Italian-inspired styling, the cocktails and the dancing, a wedding is ultimately about two people choosing each other and celebrating that promise with the people they love most.
When asked to sum up their wedding in one sentence, O called it the best day of their lives.
T described it as the most amazing day ever, full of love, great vibes, sunshine, laughter and plenty of cocktails.
I couldn't think of a better way to describe it.
T & O created a wedding that was elegant without being overly formal, thoughtfully planned without losing its spontaneity, and full of personal touches that made it feel completely theirs.
From the emotional walk down the aisle to the unforgettable Like a Prayer entrance, the parasol portraits, the espresso martinis and everyone singing together late into the evening, it was a day filled with the kinds of moments that make wedding photography so special.
