As a Devon wedding photographer, it’s always such a privilege to capture weddings in some of the city’s most iconic venues — and this beautiful wedding at The Custom House in Plymouth was no exception.

Located in the heart of Plymouth’s historic Barbican, The Custom House is one of the most elegant wedding venues in Devon, combining timeless architecture with modern luxury interiors. From the emotional morning preparations through to romantic couple portraits at Royal William Yard, every part of this wedding day was filled with beautiful moments and unforgettable scenery.

Bridal Preparations at The Custom House

The morning preparations took place in one of the beautifully styled suites at The Custom House, and the atmosphere couldn’t have suited the day more perfectly. The dark, moody interiors created such an elegant backdrop for the bridal prep, with soft lighting, rich tones and reflective mirrors adding a real sense of luxury and calm to the morning.

Megan looked beautiful in her A-line wedding dress from The Bridal Emporium in Exeter, her dreamy tulle skirt created gorgeous movement with every step, making her entrance into the wedding ceremony one to remember.

As a Devon wedding photographer, these quieter moments during bridal prep are always some of my favourites to capture — natural emotions, anticipation and all the little details that make every wedding unique.

An Elegant Wedding Ceremony in Plymouth

The ceremony took place in the stunning main hall at The Custom House, one of the most unique wedding ceremony spaces in Plymouth. The grand chandeliers, high ceilings and classic architectural features created such a timeless and romantic atmosphere for the couple to exchange their vows. Cameron was quite possibly the sweetest, most emotional groom I have had the honour to photograph - showing true emotion as his beautiful bride walked down the aisle.

After a beautiful, heart felt ceremony, Megan and Cameron walked down the aisle and then made their way back for an epic confetti cannon shower, a room full of smiling faces and joy as they celebrated saying "I do"

Couple Portraits at Royal William Yard

After the ceremony, we headed over to Royal William Yard for some relaxed couple portraits. One of the best wedding photography locations in Plymouth, Royal William Yard always provides an incredible backdrop with its historic stone buildings, waterfront setting and open courtyards.

The newlyweds took some time away from the celebrations to enjoy a quiet moment together while we explored the area and captured some natural, romantic portraits. The soft neutral tones of the architecture paired beautifully with the bride’s gown and created such a timeless look throughout their gallery.

For any couple planning a Plymouth wedding, Royal William Yard is always worth considering for portraits — especially if you love elegant city wedding photography with a coastal Devon feel.

Who Doesn't Like A Good Speech....

Surrounded by those you have chosen to spend your day with, speeches are a tradition that bring together laughter, happy tears and heartfelt stories. From touching words shared by parents, (Megan's dad chose to include a few funny stories about his precious daughter growing up!) to the best man's jokes and the couple's own expressions of gratitude, these moments often create genuine emotion and connection which are always so lovely to capture.

Ending with a PARTY!!!

Props made it onto the dance floor encouraging everyone to sing into microphones and bust some moves.... I must say that whilst capturing these I may bust a few moves of my own..... it can't be helped when the tunes a good one!!

With guests of all ages coming together, the dance floor never fails to create some fun shots.
