What to expect from your newborn photography session

The Details
The hair line, little fingers and toes, lips, ears and lashes. Everything changes and in the blink of an eye your reminiscing about those tiny features. I can't stress more how grabbing these in an image means so much. I love my job and the thought of preserving these memories for new parents is just the most precious thing. Your in awe of the little human you have created and life will never be the same. The love is overwhelming - I know, I still experience it to this day and my boys are almost both teenagers. Still I want to capture everything about them at every stage - it gets harder when they start to say "No Mum, I dont want my photo taken!!!"
But those early days—when they are tiny, curled up, and brand new—are so fleeting and worth treasuring.
Newborn photography is more than just a session; it’s an opportunity to bottle up those early days and keep them close to your heart forever. Let’s create something beautiful together—something that, years from now, will bring you right back to those first cuddles, sleepy smiles, and tiny fingers wrapped around yours.

The Investment
It is an investment in memories that will bring you joy for years to come. The value of these images only grows with time, as they serve as a tangible reminder of the love, connection, and wonder of those first days.
My little studio based in Plymouth is our converted garage, a small space but just perfect for a cosy warm session - I have a number of props, outfits and wraps available to you and I encourage you to bring items that have meaning to you. Blackets, cuddly toys, outfits, photos - if we can include props from your life the images become even more personal to you.
When you arrive I offer an informal atmosphere for you to relax and unwind whilst I grab my camera and create gorgeous photo's for you to cherish.
Most sessions last around 3 hours depending on how baby is on the day - I usually find after three hours we have created images using various props and outfits and baby is ready for a nice long uninterrupted sleep!
I love it when clients bring along siblings or furbabies to include in the session and I encourage mum and dad to get involved. I know you probably feel tired and maybe not your best but this time is such a poignant moment in your journey it''s so important to capture it.
When you first became parents, the love and emotion of holding your bundle in your arms, sooooo special.
